Falkland CC came unstuck in the Semi-Finals of the ECB National Indoor 6-a-side Championship at Lords on Sunday 12th March 2000.

Drawn to play a very strong Madisons team containing Minor Counties players from Oxfordshire and Bedfordshire, Falkland were unlucky to lose the toss and be invited to bat first. Despite the loss of an early wicket, runs came from Julian Wood and Richard O’Toole before both were dismissed in quick succession. Skipper Andy Townsend (10) and Mark Baker (17) helped repair the damage but the dismissal of Townsend, rapidly followed by Nigel Trumper left only Baker to bat out the overs.  A total of 62 was never going to be enough and despite some tight bowling, Madisons cruised home by 5 wickets with four overs to spare. It was some consolation to see Madisons win the Final with almost equal ease. Nevertheless, the Club enjoyed an excellent day at the "Home of Cricket" – well supported by a number of loyal followers and culminating with a superb buffet held in the Long Room. A special vote of thanks is due to the County 6-a-side Secretary, Dermot Healy, for his excellent support and organisation and with Falkland CC riding high at the top of the Indoor League this season, there must be a good chance of further success next year.
