Good evening all,
I hope you and your children have had the opportunity to enjoy the snow and cold weather.
I also hope that you have all received messages from the ECB to let you know that registrations for this years' All Stars programme are now being accepted. The cricket season is coming.... It would be fabulous to see again many of the brilliant boys and girls, and their great grown-ups, at Falkland Cricket Club in May. Timings are the same as last year; see 'ECB All Stars' for more info and registration.
May I also take the liberty of asking that some of you mums and dads may also wish to join the energy and be an Activator this year; you know by now what is involved and, I can say from personal experience, it is very rewarding and great fun. Tim and/or I will lead the sessions again so your only time commitment would be:
- One hour on a Saturday morning (but you will be there anyway!) plus five minutes watching video clips on a Friday evening (or any evening during the week) to prepare.
- Attending one evening training session in a local sports hall (dates and venue TBC); even this session was fun, as I remember it!
- Completing a one hour online course.
- Completing (or providing, via the Update service) a valid DBS check.
Simple, yes?! Activator kit will be provided and your time will be hugely appreciated by all the kids and their parents. I should also stress that cricket experience is not a necessity. While it may be of some use, the ability to enthuse and engage kids is a far more important skill set in this instance. Any cricketing input necessary can be provided by others.
If this is something you would like to be a part of then please do let me know or register your interest for the activator training course on the 12th April below. It will be appreciated by many!
