Development XI scrape high scoring draw!

Falkland Development XI were lucky to come away from a very windy Berkshire League Div 3 encounter against Binfield 3rds with a "winning draw".

Falkland scored 259 for 6 from their allotted 45 overs with Jared Ashworth (75) sharing a partnership of 146 for the second wicket with Ben Thomas who went on to carry his bat for a superb 122 not out.

Despite the competitive total, Binfield were well up for the chase and with Cameron Ireland (81) and Ian Snelling (64) sharing a third wicket stand of 143, they looked to be cruising to victory at 247 for 5 with over 7 overs left.
At that point a heavy shower quickly turned the pitch ends from dust to mud, rendering further play impossible.
