Falkland 3rds march to top spot!

Holding their momentum intact Falkland 3rds have climbed 5 spots this Saturday after beating Aldershot 2's and that's there 3rd win in a row.

In the traditional format, Falkland 3rds played Aldershot 2's. Falkland won the toss and elected to bowl on a breezy cloudy morning.

Slip cordon in waiting

Fast and accurate Gajan finally struck in his 5th over clean bowling the opener. A good display of tight bowling continued from the other end from left arm seam Nassar Khan also striking in his 5th over getting Aldershot's No.3 plumb lbw with score now at 34/2.

In came Aldershot's captain and he tried his best to change the direction of the game playing some steady attacking cricket before S.Sharma got him on his 6th ball after bowling 5 darts(dot balls) caught at midwicket on lovely loopy off-spin by Gajan P. Especially picked for his newly found talent of left-arm spin George Hawkins got the no. 5 batsman lbw without playing a shot.

Spotting the tail in the middle, Falkland 3rds bowling attack ripped through Aldershot despite some resistance by Jamie Grover scoring a decent 22, Aldershot ended up with a score of 153 all out in 40.1 overs.

2nd Innings
Sutha who has a reputation of playing his shots upfront in the innings did not disappoint and the combination of him and Chandan Singh put on 51 for the first wicket as yet again Sutha got out playing a wild shot (5th in a row). Dependable Tamer Sultan walked in the middle and with Chandan gave another 50 runs partnership to the team.

Big Arun T walked in the middle only to hit the biggest 6 of the match of the first ball he faced followed by some smooth shots for 4's towards covers was playing for the gallery with Chandan Singh playing the anchor's role completed his well deserved 50 as Falkland chased 154 /3 in 23 overs.

The team plays Purley 2's away next week and the captain hopes for a similar performance from his balanced, motivated & determined unit.
