Falklands U9s notched up a tremendous win today against the unbeaten Pangbourne and Whitchurch Junior U9s.
Falklands batted first in tricky early morning conditions, perfect for swing bowling. The top order did excellently to keep the opposition bowlers at bay, building a strong foundation for the middle and lower order to really open their shoulders and get to 140 at the break.
Pangbourne started strongly with their top four all scoring 20 before retiring, but some tight middle innings overs coupled with fantastic committed ground fielding from Falkland left Pangbourne needing 10 runs from the last super over. Tense!
However Falklands' most accurate bowling pair bowled brilliantly and closed the game out, talking two wickets in last six balls to bring the victory home by three runs. Well done the lads - super stuff...
