Falkland Cricket Club is delighted to hear that Barbara Evans has recently celebrated her 101st birthday.
Barbara is the widow of Falkland’s much loved first bar secretary Ernie Evans who did so much to promote a vibrant social side of the club following the completion of the previous “new pavilion”, back in 1976. This set the club on the path to the prominent place it enjoys today in the life of the local community.
Sadly Ernie died at a comparatively young age but Barbara continued to run his haberdashery stall in Newbury market for many years afterwards.
The club sends hearty congratulations to Barbara and wishes her many Happy Returns of the day.
