PLAYERS' MEETING[
The Players' Meeting will be held on Monday 7th February and is planned to be a face to face meeting, but we will review nearer the time and revert to Zoom if we need too. For those who have not attended before we will cover several crucial items during the meeting 1) Captain reviews of 2021, 2) Elect Captains for 2022, 3) Review the main outcomes of the Club Survey, 4) Club aims for 2022 and beyond and 5) an opportunity to socialise with your fellow teammates. Further comm’s will come out on this over the coming weeks.
2022 CAPTAINS
As per the above the Captains for 2022 will be elected at the Players Meeting. The meeting will aim to elect captains for all Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday teams. Clearly discussions have already been happening across the board to gain nominations for these roles, but if you’d like to discuss putting yourself forward for a role then please contact me asap. I will communicate who the current nominations are in the next week or so.
On this note I’d like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that I will standing down as Saturday 2nd X1 Captain and am working currently to find a replacement for the 2022 season onward. Whilst I am still fully committed to playing every week, I would like to bring someone in who can focus solely on the 2nd X1, driving them forward to gain promotion asap and at the same time allow me to focus on the day to day running of the Cricket side of the club. Thanks to all that have supported me in this role over the past seasons.
INDOOR TRAINING
Adult training will commence the 1st week of February and likely to be on Tuesday the 1st of February and will run until the end of March. We will then aim to train outside from April onward (weather allowing). I will confirm more detail re the day, time and location asap.
PRE-SEASON GAMES
We will kick the season off on Saturday 2nd April as per last year with a day combining training and completing prep work on the ground. This is a great oppotuniry to blow some cobwebs away, build some team spirit, welcome and meet new players and complete crucial jobs on the ground to be ready for the season ahead. Food will be provided..
This will be followed by 2 x Inter Club Games on Saturday 9th of April again weather allowing, Hopefully it won’t be as cold as last season !!
