Am improved run rate this week gave Falklands Women’s XI a competitive total at Stony Stratford in the HCWCL or so we thought! Falkland finished on 216/9. With P Camplin making 54 and A Humphreys 39.
In reply Stony Stratford reached 104 for 5 off 14 overs. Then came a 108 run partnership between I Parry and L Jasper – making it 214 when I Parry was caught by A Humphrey bowled by L Colby.
With 5 overs to go it wasn’t looking pretty for Falkland, but some really tight bowling by L Colby, E MacEwen and B Lee made it a nail biting finish. Stratford won by 1 wicket in the final over.
