Falkland Womens XI faced Oxford in their mid season away match of HCWCL at the Oxford Jordan Hill sports ground.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Falkland lost their openers early on, however Poppy Camplin batting at three smashed a quick 53 with some lovely stroke play, before Oxford keeper
Felicity Rae-Welsh juggled a catch to send her back to the shed. From there on Falkland lost regular wickets. A quick cameo from Meika King (23) and Lottie Aird 94 after a watchful innings before she fluffed her glory shot and was caught by the keeper with two balls to go. Falkland ending on 219/9 off their 40 overs.
The Oxford innings started strongly before Emma MacEwen had opener Eleanor Bath LBW, and Meika King with a smart throw ran out Oxford Captain Genny Porter to leave oxford on 80/2. Immi Storrar took 4 for 40 and Lizzy Storrar and Louise Colby both had wicket. The innings ended with the retirement of Charlotte Hayes with I believe a thumb injury. Oxford 163/9 after 32, Falkland win by 56 runs
