Falkland U19 girls welcomed Beaconsfield to the ELG in their Regional Quarter Final clash in the Vitality Blast T20 Cup on Sunday.
Winning the toss, Falkland chose to field. The visitors set off at quick pace and soon passed the 50 run mark. C Quaintance-Blackford (1-16) made the breakthrough with the score on 77 before L Colby (1-26) removed the next batter as the score headed towards 100. E Upton (1-10) quickly picked up the next wicket before L Scheiwe ran out the dangerous opener as she headed towards her 50. I Storrar (1-23) struck next before 2 quick wickets from K Collie (2-15) helped to limit the visitors to 143-7 from their 20 overs.
The Falkland openers were in no mood to take things slowly and sped out of the blocks putting on a 128-run partnership before I Storrar eventually fell for 32. Captain H Rider led from the front peppering the boundary in an innings that saw her hit 17 4s and a six. Ably supported by the in-form L Scheiwe they saw the home team over the line with 6 overs to spare. H Rider finishing on 89 not out and L Scheiwe on 12 not out.
The girls progress into the Regional Semi-Final next with a trip to either Gunnersbury or Richmond.
