Result: Falkland 263/5 lost to Boyne Hill 301/4

On a sunny Sunday morning in Maidenhead, with a gentle breeze drifting across the ground, Falkland Under 11 Girls took to the field for their third fixture of the season against a strong Boyne Hill side. Boyne Hill won the toss and elected to bowl first, putting Falkland in to set the total.

Falkland’s innings was highlighted by some impressive individual performances. Isla led the way with a fluent 19 from just 15 balls, including three superbly timed boundaries. Emily followed with a confident 16 from 13 balls, striking three fours in different areas, including two in consecutive deliveries. Poppy and Holly showcased elegant straight drives to the rope, while Honour demonstrated excellent game awareness and leadership with sharp calling and quick singles. Paige provided resilience at the end, defending accurately and anchoring the innings in the latter stages. Imogen and Edie impressed with their energetic running and composed shot selection, adding crucial runs with intelligent play.

In the field, Falkland showed determination and skill. Edie put in a brave and committed display, saving multiple boundaries with fearless stops. Imogen produced a moment of brilliance with a quick-thinking run-out, pouncing on a lapse as the batter tried to sneak a single. Emily starred with the ball, claiming two wickets in a single over — both clean bowled — while Holly added another to the tally. Overall, the bowling attack was tighter and more accurate than in previous outings, reflecting the team’s growing confidence and progress.

Despite a 301/4 to 263/5 loss, the Falkland girls put in a spirited performance and demonstrated significant improvement. With strong foundations and visible potential, there is much to be excited about as the season continues.
